Bridgerton
The Netflix Series Bridgerton is a colourful reinterpretation of London’s Regency Era. Bridgerton producers Shonda Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen surpassed all expectations when they adapted Julia Quinn’s romance novels. You might be asking: What exactly is the Regency Era? To put it simply, England’s Regency Era. It was a short period of glamour when the most extravagant balls and romantic liaisons took place.
The Regency Era
The Regency in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was a period towards the end of the Georgian era, when King George III was deemed unfit to rule due to his illness, and his son ruled as his proxy, as prince regent. The Regency is noted for its elegance and achievements in the fine arts and architecture. The Regency was also a period of great refinement and cultural achievement.
